I couldn't have asked for a better reaction from my boss when I told her of my plans today. She's very excited for me. It's great that I can now speak openly about what I'm doing. My last day here will be Aug. 31, so I will have a week to chill and tie up the loose ends before I head down south.
On another note, I apologize for the stagnancy of the posts...Things will pick up as I get closer to my departure, which happens to be two months from today!

We seem to be following a similar schedule, you and I! I'll be quitting my 9-5 (okay, 8:30 - 4:30) job-that-I-got-immediately-upon-finishing-grad-school and dragging my husband to New Zealand for a year. My last day at work will also be August 31st, although I haven't told my boss yet. That task is going to be done today over lunch. They'll be supportive, though; I work with cool people. Hell, we're even flying out around the same time you are, although we'll be doing a month or two in Australia before hitting New Zealand for the majority of the trip.
Enjoying your blog - there are so many parallels here to what I'm going through in my head! Especially that damnable MS Office "reminder" box thing. I hate those cheerful little reminders almost as much as I hate the damn MS Calender and server system!
